Mission Statement

The mission of the Edgemont Junior High Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive developmental school counseling program

focused on  academic, personal, social, and career development and success for all students, and to create and nurture lifelong learners who are

college, career, and community ready.


Belief Statements

Edgemont school counselor is committed to the following belief statements:

 • ALL students have value.
  ALL students deserve respect for their ethnic backgrounds and diversified needs.
 • ALL students have the right to participate in the school counseling program.
  ALL students can achieve to a standard which will result in college and career readiness.
  ALL students have the right to a safe, supported and respectful school environment.
  ALL students, parents, & educators work together to ensure student success.


Vision Statement

The vision of the Edgemont Junior High Counseling Department is to prepare every student to be college, career, and community ready.

Edgemont Counseling Program

At Edgemont, we coordinate guidance activities that help students plan, monitor, and manage their learning. One of our goals is to promote the academic, personal, social and emotional success of each student while working in partnership with school staff and families. Our program includes the following components:
